When one thinks of Egypt, one’s mind is generally drawn to the vision of the three monumental Pyramids and accompanying Sphinx that stand on the Giza plateau near modern Cairo. If one travels to Giza, one will probably learn that there were subsidiary pyramids for the great wives, and remnants of the temples connected to the pyramids.
Giza is located a few hundred meters from the last houses in the southernmost part of the city proper, where a limestone cliff rises abruptly from the other side of a sandy desert plateau. The ancient Egyptians called this place imentet, "The West" or kher neter, "the necropolis".
In this photo, the Pyramids are at the left, you can see Cairo in the background, but it doesn't matter...
This is a photo of the daily life of these camel riders, always there trying to earn their Lives with the only possible resource - tourism and tourists.
